I love a good slow reading of the Federalist Papers as a boon to at least my too hurried & glib education. Shallowly, I can initially say that it is odd indeed how some intent on “Progress” hold most tightly to Classical institutions, uninspected or questioned. Testing the validity of our own government & governance is a large part, it seems to me, of the various struggles between Madison & Hamilton, & ought to be seen as patriotic. I hope you will give relative newbies like me more of this kind of essay.
