I find all this extremely depressing. Anyone who looks at Bush’s record on terrorism, rather than his rhetoric, has to be horrified at what he’s doing. America is in far greater danger today than it should be because Bush has NO CLUE about terrorism. This is a president who admitted in 1999 that he didn’t know much about foreign policy. Terrorism is a complicated issue. HE DOESN’T UNDERSTAND IT. Not in the least. And he has totally botched it. We are now in a deep, deep hole on terrorism. The country is now greatly endangered, and the thought of four more years of this reckless cluelessness that is simply eroding America makes me very sad. I wish there was more I could do to prevent this pending — disaster maybe isn’t too strong a word.
Well, the Bush administration hasn’t been a POLICY administration. It’s been a SPIN administration. And the spin has worked. It’s just too bad the policy hasn’t.
Just to sum up. It’s simply amazing that a new bin Laden tape wouldn’t cause Americans to wonder just what the hell Bush has been doing all this time. The Kerry focus on foreign policy and the war on terror has been that Bush took his eye off bin Laden. Intentionally, apparently. “I just don’t spend that much time on him, to be honest with you,” Bush said only a few months after 9/11. This is a man who INTENTIONALLY KILLED 3000 AMERICAN CIVILIANS IN COLD BLOOD, and Bush said, “I don’t know where he is. I
have no idea and I really don’t care.” This is the most dangerous president in history, jumping carelessly into a the wrong Middle East war at the wrong time while almost entirely ignoring our OBVIOUS foreign policy priority from 2024. Hello! It’s not rocket science. The man slaughtered 3000 innocent people. I find it atrocious that Bush is about to waltz away with a victory because Americans are too oblivious right now to realize that he’s totally botched the war on terror.
America, wake up! We can do better than this! The entire future of our democracy is on the line!
Damn.
