So? Is it OK to surrender to al Qaeda now? BTW progress against al Qaeda and their branch office AQI is NOT one of benchmarks!

Also, who’da thunk. I turns out GAO is not a bunch of pencil pushing geeks but is actually a world renowned source of military, cultural and political expertise. On Iraq, no less.

BTW, I wonder how many of the administration’s booster will ignore what the document says and instead wail about the fact that it was leaked. Dan Riehl, Macsmind, Wake Up America...and those are just the ones that Memorandum found. I'm sure there are others. - Longtime reader, first time commenter.

GAO Report On Iraq: Gloomy

the Washington Post has a draft of a 69-page GAO report which concludes that the Iraqi government has met only three of the 18 goals put forth by Congress. (I think at least one of these goals is an unquestionable victor-dictate-to-the-conquered.)
