She really doesn't need ANY type of degree to please them! All she has to do is wink and make sure the words "communist," "terrorist," "liberal media," or "socialist" are present in every sentence she says and she'll always be OK in their eyes. The elites of the Republican party never took her seriously anyway; she was good for drawing crowds and I honestly believe that McCain thought she would be a quiet, vote-drawing patsy when he agreed to have her as his VP. She'll probably get a show on Fox News. Lee, have you seen her supporters? She really doesn’t need ANY type of degree to please them! Her penchant during the campaign to make incendiary, highly polarizing accusations, and then her expectation that she would be allowed to make a speech when John McCain conceded the election demonstrated her self-absorbed, grossly simplistic attitude toward politics. The announcement she made yesterday was hastily thrown together and unrehearsed, which suggests that she was frantically trying to capitalize on the long holiday weekend, as well as the media's current fixation on the death of an aging rock star who hasn't performed in a decade. The illogic of her statement was stupendous. Her explanation boiled down to the notion that all "lame duck" politicians cannot resist abusing their last few months in office and that they invariably waste tax-payer dollars by going on frivolous junkets and not doing their job. Being a "lame duck", she attempted to convince us, through her incredibly contorted logic, that she was going to save Alaskans from that fate by resigning 18 months short of the end of her term in office. The reality is that her naked political ambition drove her to decide that she can win the presidency of the United States if she travels the world and campaigns full time over the next three years. It is a pompously bold decision that is without any connection to reality, thanks largely to the sycophantic political shills who are advising her and her inability to see the world the way that it actually is. So, for the next three years, Sarah Palin will be attacking every policy and move by the Obama administration, regardless of its merit. And where will the money come from to finance this 3-year-long speech? Big oil, big business, and fat rich Republicans who are still living in the 19th century. Move on and get over it. That rabbit was made for breeding, not leading. Big deal, she quit a job she never should have had in the first place. Move on and get over it. She is about to get paid during interviews, book deals, movie deals, and private speaking engagements. My advice to her would be to go back to school and obtain her masters if she wants to be a professional speaker or just chill with her family and enjoy the 12 to 15 million dollars that is coming her way. That speech was a telling sign of Sarah Palin's inability to articulate her thoughts. Anyone who thought the Katie Couric interview was just nerves need only watch the video of this speech to be convinced that Palin has limited intellectual capacity. Did someone actually write that for her? Did anyone proofread it for her? Unbelievable that this woman could have been Vice President of the US. John McCain should be embarassed to have brought her to the political forefront. As for resigning because she would be ineffective as a lame duck? That's her choice to be a lame duck, or she could choose to use her popularity to do something good for her state. If I lived in Alaska, I'd be angry right now. I hope this ruins her chances in 2024 because she is a poor representative of what a woman can accomplish as a politician. Wow. If she quits the governorship of the small (in population) state of Alaska, how could she possibly handle the presidency? That she doesn't want to be a lame duck, but that comes with the territory and no one would have known she was a lame duck if she hadn't announced that she wasn't running again for governor. Her career in politics is over, she should go back to being a mom and taking care of her family. I was amazed at how scattered she was in speech, but it is telling as to how her thought process works, she is a scatter brain to be sure. I would think that most Republicans would be very angry with McCain, or his people for bringing this disaster onto the national political scene. It was a mistake. And can you imagine if she were the VP, she would probably want to quit that too. How can anyone take this woman seriously. If she can't take the heat she just up and quits. Soooo, if she will do that as Gov. of Alaska, what if she got in the White House? Would she resign that as well if things got a little heated? Now, she has dashed all hopes for election to a higher office--immature, scatter-brained behavior. Grow up, Sarah, grow up.
