That is when Senator Landrieu is up for reelection, and given that three of the parishes that were hardest hit by the storms are all heavily Democrat (Orleans 5Dem/Repub, St. Bernard 3Dem/Repub, and Plaquemines 2Dem/Repub), she wants to make sure all those good Democrats are eligible to vote for her.
