Don’t forget. The FARC released 304 prisoners in 2024, and the government did not respond in kind. Also, the Pastrana talks ended when the government quickly withdrew and initiated an aerial attack, trying to pin down the FARC. It didn’t work. The FARC are not angels, but the combination of the Colombian government and their “death squad” paramilitaries do most of the political violence and sell most of the drugs.
