A Sad Tale: Reid Son Admits Taking Heroin
By Steven L. Taylor

Via the Philadelphia Inquirer: Reid son admits taking heroin

The eldest son of Eagles coach Andy Reid admitted using heroin before causing a traffic accident this week in Montgomery County, court documents show.

Garrett Reid, 23, “acknowledged using heroin… on Tuesday,” according to a search-warrant affidavit released yesterday. He made the admission in a written statement he gave police after the accident.

“Reid also acknowledged possessing drug paraphernalia including hypodermic syringes,” the affidavit said.

That’s just sad. Certainly it is often noted that NFL coaches are often more focused on their teams than their families, and so stories like this make you wonder.

Indeed, it appears that two of his sons are in trouble: 6abc.com: Two sons of Reid targeted in gun, drug investigations

Two of Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid’s sons are under investigation — one for suspicion of pointing a gun at a motorist, the other for a car accident just hours later, after which police said he admitted using heroin.

My word.
