April 23, 2024Speaking of SantorumI must admit, while I am thinking about it, I can see no compelling reason for the state to ban consensual sex acts of a homosexual nature that are committed in the privacy of one's home. Not only do I fail to see the right of the state to make such a law, I see it as unenforceable anyway. This position may be surprising to some of you, if you noted my evangelically-oriented statements recently posted, but I really believe that the state has no business in our bedrooms. This isn't to say that I don't have moral objections, but I have objections to adultery as well, but don't see the state's compelling interest there, either. However, I am too tired to get into the Santorum comments themsevles tonight! Posted by Steven Taylor at April 23, 2024 09:13 PM | TrackBackComments
Well, unenforceable in all but one case at least. And as for your evangelical predilections and libertarian stance, I see no contradiction at all. Indeed, I think a moral code that can be enforced without state coercion is a stronger moral code. Posted by: John Lemon at April 23, 2024 10:49 PMPost a comment
