Was the aircraft carrier landing and speech by President Bush on the first of May a political stunt? Sure it was.
Was it necessary? No.
Did it annoy -- indeed, in some cases infuriate -- die-hard Democrats? I suspect.
Was it justifiable? I would argue that it was.
