  • AL Qaeda Planning from Iran?

This is interesting, and troubling. Interesting because al Qaeda and the Mullahs in Iran have differing views of Islam. Troublng for obvious reasons.

The United States has intercepted communications strongly suggesting that a small cell of leaders of Al Qaeda in Iran directed last week's terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia, and the United States is sending a strong protest to the Tehran government, according to senior Bush administration officials.

For sending a "strong protest" to Tehran, I'm not sure any protest weaker than a few well placed munitions will actually be heard. Then again, that is completely another topic.

    Indeed.

Although I am somewhat optimistic that internal change may take place in Iran before anything like that would have to happen.

One would think that the Iranian leadership has to be a bit on edge, given that we are on their flanks (both in Iraq and Afghanistan).
