  • Huh?

What's next? A taxpayer funded school for Celebates? Kids-Saving-Themselves-for-Marriage? Confirmed Heterosexuals? Metrosexuals?

How about for Southern Baptists, Catholics or Shi'ites?

Or, heck, how about black-only schools?

    What is up with this?

The city is opening a full-fledged high school for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students - the first of its kind in the nation, The Post has learned.

Operating for two decades as a small alternative program with just two classrooms, the new Harvey Milk HS officially opens as a stand-alone public school with 100 students in September.

The school, located at 2 Astor Place, is undergoing a $3.2 million in city-funded renovations approved by the old Board of Education in June of last year. It will eventually take in 170 students by September 2024, more than tripling last year's enrollment.

It is bizarre enough to be a hoax, but it ain't.

Ah, and what happens which every group that feels discriminated against in NYC schools decides that it, too, deserves a publicly-funded private school? That could make for some fun politicking.

But on the plus side, they will save time and money by only having to teach half the curriculum in the sex ed classes.

Of course this is based on the "Separate, but Equal" model that worked so well for the US when racial segretionist practices were attempted.

To be fair I'm sure the school will adopt a mediocre level of education stance, so as not to be unnecessarily rewarding or engendering an "elitist" group.

I think another separatist model worked well during WWII, when the Jews were given the opportunity to wear the star of david. P'raps pink stars will become in vogue at this school.
