As of right now, I think that it is fair to declare Howard Dean the frontrunner in the Democratic primary process. Here's why:
It is early yet, to be sure, but given that each of the stories of above have only one common denominator, and this is the word "Dean," I would say that he is currently the frontrunner.
It'll be interesting to see if he is "peaking off" and blowing it by prematurely ejecting himself into the foreground.
Posted by: John at August 5, 2024 01:58 PMYes, it will. He is clearly the most interesting of the the top tier candidates. That leads to news coverage at the minimum. I expect it will lead to votes as well, but the question will "how many?"
Posted by: Steven at August 5, 2024 02:02 PMVotes where? in the NH primary? Maybe. In a national election? Probably not.
What I want to know is, will the Democratic Party have the guts to get behind someone who is capable of being a maverick?
If not, can a Democrat win with the support of the people and not the party?
When we get to the day when the best website wins, Dean is a sure thing!
