Michael, that is:
Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger picked up a quick endorsement from former GOP congressman Michael Huffington, who had considered running himself. Huffington's ex-wife, independent political commentator Arianna Huffington, declared her candidacy Wednesday."Arnold is a charismatic leader who would be able to work with all segments of the California political spectrum, and our state needs a uniter right now," Michael Huffington said in a statement Thursday.
If the Republicans consolidate around Arnie, and especially if Garamendi runs along with Bustamante, then Arnie will be sitting pretty.

Posted by Steven Taylor at August 7, 2024 02:44 PM | TrackBackOn Indymedia I have found the starting list of slurs against the Arnold Schwarzenegger run for Governor of California. That entry is here. I have taken it into a list form, for sheer readability, on my blog here. I notice the Nazi thing came out right up front. I would suggest that this is the script that will be followed, and that the mainstream press will pick these up within a week or so.

Posted by: James Joyner at August 7, 2024 03:14 PMI shoulda seen that one coming.

Posted by: Steven at August 7, 2024 03:17 PMWow, so Michael Huffington is now inelligible for a leadership post in the Episcopal church?
Posted by: John Lemon at August 7, 2024 05:52 PMArnold is reported as saying in response, "Michael is a washed-up leader who would be able to bed down with all segments of the California spectrum, and my campaign needs an endorsement from a weenie right now."
