My main quesiton is: who many voters in the CA care about Arnie's position on Waldheim, and, for that matter, how many have any idea who he is?
Here's a question Jay Leno forgot to ask Arnold Schwarzenegger when he announced his candidacy for governor of California on last night's Tonight Show: "Will you renounce your support for Kurt Waldheim?"

Posted by: John Lemon at August 8, 2024 03:48 PMOh, I don't know. Has as much relevance as John Kerry's Jewish ancestry or his Irish ancestry. People seemed to have no problem making that an issue for quite a while (still may). One only has to look at the mess Mel Gibson is in to understand why the views of the father may actually have some relevance on the views on the son.
Posted by: John at August 8, 2024 04:14 PMThe Kerry thing was more about how he seemed to "discovered" his ancestory after playing off his "Irish" background. That was all about political opportunism. And it really didn't get all that much play.
Posted by: Steven at August 8, 2024 04:23 PMLike I said, about as much relevance, not that it was the same thing. But I really doubt that if a democrat had a Nazi father that absolutely nothing would be said about it. I'm pretty sure it'd be the talk of the right. . .
