  • $20 Roll Out

I know that it is necessary to get the word about about changes to the currency, but are they laying it on a bit thick or what? I have seen ads in SI, have been assualted by webvertisements, and have seen numerous TV ads.

Maybe it's a sort of subliminal tactic to get small business people checking their $20 bills a little closer. Then again, maybe the treasury had too much of last years budget laying around and had to lose some cash fast.

I just started getting into the habit of using the Susan B Anthony and Sacajewea golden coin... It's a good thing I don't see many twenties.

I understand the desire to advance the bill technology but it is going to work against them. We have issued 3 different types of money in the last 5-6 years.

If they change it again soon, counterfeiters will just design their own and pass it as a "new" type of bill.

We already had a case a few weeks ago where a cashier took a 20 with George Bush on the face. Many of the people running cash registers are (shall we say) not the most savvy of people. They can easily be duped into thinking this is just another new bill.

I was thinking of commenting on this earlier myself. It does seem odd.
