November 04, 2024MS: Barbour Ahead, Many Votes Left to CountMusgrove, Barbour Locked In Tight Race Democratic Gov. Ronnie Musgrove and Republican challenger Haley Barbour were locked in a tight race Tuesday night.Posted by Steven Taylor at November 4, 2024 09:47 PM | TrackBack Comments
Governor (47% of precincts reporting) i-Ronnie Musgrove (Dem) Haley Barbour (Rep) These 2 sites take turns leapfrogging each other on who has the newest numbers with the Biloxi Herald mostly winning. Posted by: Paul at November 4, 2024 10:39 PMNo results yet from either Musgrove's home county (Panola) or Mississippi's most liberal county (Lafayette), so I wouldn't write off Ronnie just yet. The good news is at least that the minor-party candidates are getting insignificant votes (I was worried Capps would get some support due to his role in the flag business), so the chances of this getting thrown to the state legislature are diminishing. Posted by: Chris Lawrence at November 4, 2024 10:50 PMEr, I mean Cripps. Posted by: Chris Lawrence at November 4, 2024 10:51 PMCL, where to you have it by county? (you mean i missed one? drat) Posted by: Paul at November 4, 2024 11:06 PMPaul, clarionledger.com has the top four races (Gov, Lt, Treasurer, Atty Gen) by county. Posted by: Chris Lawrence at November 4, 2024 11:14 PMBarbour's making a victory speech now, with only 80% of the precincts reporting. Posted by: Chris Lawrence at November 5, 2024 12:06 AMThanks Chris... I went to bed though before I saw the reply. ;-) With 92% reporting he obviously did not jump the gun.
