    Musgrove, Barbour Locked In Tight Race

    Democratic Gov. Ronnie Musgrove and Republican challenger Haley Barbour were locked in a tight race Tuesday night.

    With 17 percent of the vote in, Barbour had 52 percent to Musgrove's 46 percent.

    No results yet from either Musgrove's home county (Panola) or Mississippi's most liberal county (Lafayette), so I wouldn't write off Ronnie just yet.

    The good news is at least that the minor-party candidates are getting insignificant votes (I was worried Capps would get some support due to his role in the flag business), so the chances of this getting thrown to the state legislature are diminishing.

    Paul, clarionledger.com has the top four races (Gov, Lt, Treasurer, Atty Gen) by county.

    Barbour's making a victory speech now, with only 80% of the precincts reporting.

    With 92% reporting he obviously did not jump the gun.
