I'm with Robert Tagorda: could we please put the Nazi-comparisons to rest (and he has examples from both sides of the aisle).
You wanna compare Saddam to Hitler, fine. He probably doesn't have the requisite stats, but at least he is was a brutal mass-murdering authoritarian dictator.
Neither George Bush nor Howard Dean fit that mold, by a longshot.
Indeed, and we should thank God above for this fact: no one in mainstream American politics comes anywhere close to Hitler and Co.

Any such comparisons and I just tune out. I hope the Bush haters realize that I, as a loyal democrat, discount their opinions and ideas immediately when they start on the "Bush is a war criminal" mantra. As for the Hitler comparison, they have become a satire of themselves.
I do not like many of Bush's policies. I think he was uniquily unprepared for the presidency and I find his lack of intellectual curiosity disturbing. I do not hate him or his family, and do not wish him ill personally. I do not understand people that hate others, especially in the abstract. Strange behavior. Although, the right did a good job on Clinton (killed Ron Brown, killed Vince Foster etc).

Jeff Jarvis seems to agree as well and is taking a lot of heat from the 'loyal' liberals. You have probably seen this prime example of the 'I know better than you' attitude that has created such a uproar. If not,take a look at my page where a summary can be found.
You're absolutely right: no mainstream American figure fits the Hitler mold. We should all just celebrate that, instead of trying to squeeze opponents into it.
