I have climbed the long ladder in the Blogosphere Ecosystem, and am now a Playful Primate (#98). Of course, being at the tail end of the scale, no doubt some devolution may be in my future as well.

From experience I can guarantee you will devolve many times before you have any chance of staying a primate. I've been up there - even fairly far - several times, and have slid well back into mammals once or twice. Lately I've stayed solidly in the top 10 of mammals and sometimes the bottom 3 of primates.
