  • Yet More Reasons why I Watch Very Little TV Apart from News and Sports

I have not watched a single episode of Fear Factor. However, I have been repeatedly regaled this week with commercials, both on TV and radio, about some sort of million-dollar couples challenges in which each time I get to hear some poor women begging not to have to do some disgusting thing done to her, like, I think, having her significant other dump live bugs on her.

What, I ask, is the entertainment value in this?

And how pathetic are the people that they will go through this nonsense just to be on TV?

Oh c'mon... I'm not ashamed to say that tonight's fear factor was probably one of the most enjoyable hours of tv watching i had all year. Part of it was the show itself (usually entertaining, stupid, and gross at the same time). But it was a few random telephone calls to friends and relatives where I discovered that other people were watching it too.

I would bet if we all went to work tomorrow and asked around who watched the show we'd be pretty surprised how many people say yes.

"What, I ask, is the entertainment value in this?"

One of the contestants had nice big fake tits.

On past FFs, the sports-related stunts were pretty interesting. One of them was a rotating climbing wall. The contestants climbed up the wall as it changed into a floor then a wall then a floor... Then they had the one where they had to hold onto a metal bar as long as possible. It would probably be difficult from a liability perspective, but FF would make a great attraction at Universal Studios or something.

I'm just talking about the sports things, not the eating of buffalo penises.
