okay, now I’ve watched the second one and I think I have as many or more questions than I had after watching the first one. Does it ever start answering these questions or is always just creating questions? I am intrigued by it.

A lot of questions get raised and yes, some are answered by the mid-season finale, but by no means all.
The stories do start to converge which isn’t exactly the same as questions being answered, it does make it feel a tad more coherent.
