    1. Marshall Rogers was the second great modern Batman artist. The first was Neal Adams, who in the 1960s electrified the comics world with what looked like photo-realistic (if highly stylized) images of superheroes, Batman included. The second was Marshall Rogers, who brought a different kind of style (or more aptly, stylishness) to Batman in the 1970s.

      I still have a set of Marshall Rogers Batman prints somewhere in storage. Here are a couple of examples of his work, covers from Detective Comics. It’s hard to see from them what set Rogers apart, unfortunately.
