    3. In fairness to Morris, maybe he means “president of his local YMCA” or something.

Or, to paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen, Mike Bloomberg is no Teddy Roosevelt (at best, he’s Perot without the charts and graphs). And Roosevelt lost

    5. I just read last night an article about this possible campaign in a recent issue (print) of the New Republic. He would have lots of money, but the article concluded with what the author (I forget who it was) pointing out a fundamental problem with his campaign: The policies he has said he would emphasize are essentially existing Democratic Party positions, while the potential constituency that is most likely to support a third-party/independent bid tends to hold nationalistic views on trade (a la Perot in the ’90s) and immigration (a la Gilchrist, who has been mentioned as a third-party candidate).

    7. I lost intrest in Dick Morris’s drunken rambles some time ago.

    8. I’d certainly prefer you. Further, if Morris were smoking something and Bloomberg were President, Bloomberg would make lighting up so hard, he might wish he were in Guantanamo.
