I missed the game but expected it to be much closer with Big Ben out. I didn’t pick Miami as a playoff team, though. Trying to install two new systems (new OC and DC) plus a new QB and no Ricky is a bad combo.
Actually, the game was much closer than the final score indicates. remember it was a 4-point game with 3 minutes to play. The interception return for a TD is what sealed it.
That said, Miami is not quite there yet in terms of a contender.

I concur–while I missed much of the 3rd quarter, I saw the rest of the game. Given that the closeness was thrown away, at least in part, my consecutive INTs, once guesses that another bad game or two and the rumblings for Joey will start.
I thought Culpepper looked a lot like he did in his post-Moss period in Minnesota, which is say not very good (and I don’t just mean the final 6 or so minutes of the game).
