Here’s one man’s tale: Charter: There’s A Problem With Your Internet? Here’s The Disconnect Department.

Of course, I had a similar experience some years back. Hence, the fact that I use DSL. Indeed, I shed Charter’s internet service three years ago in just under a week.

My neighbor down the street is having his own set of problems with Charter internet as well–I figure it is only a matter of time until he goes DSL as well…

    1. I’d love the option of DSL but because I live in the sticks Verizon (once upon a time GTE) still hasn’t upgraded their lines to DSL. So for me it’s either Charter with their occasionally weird problems (like going out at 53 minutes after the hour consistently) or satellite. Competition works in theory when more than one company wants your broadband money.
