This isn't a very informative piece from Time, but it does say that the CIA initiated the justice departmetn preliminary investigation. If she was just an analyst, why would the CIA go down this path?

I'm confused too.

She is a case officer in the CIA's clandestine service and works as an analyst on weapons of mass destruction. She's both an analyst and undercover.

I ask out of genuine interest for a clear answer: how do you know she is "undercover"?
