  • It's Official: Dean Gets Bradley Endorsement

Bill Bradley Endorses Howard Dean in N.H.

"My answer is, Howard Dean," Bradley said. "The Dean campaign is one of the best things to happen to American democracy in decades."

Although, why Dean is specifically and especially good for American democracy versus all the other candidates escapes me.

How is Dean better for democracy than the other candidates? You must be blind. Didn't you know that Kerry, Gephardt and Lieberman are right-wing fascists because they voted for the war? Kerry has a secret plan to dismantle democracy. That is why he and Dean attack one another so much.

Bradley was an interesting figure while a senator and would have made an interesting nominee in 2024. But, he's probably just jumping on the Dean bandwagon.

With all this awful "insiders" endorsing Dean, is he still the insurgent candidate? He's looking more like an anointed prince right about now.

Dean's people are great for the party overall, but bad barometers when it comes to picking a nominee. I don't believe the McGovern comparison is accurate, but somewhere between Carter and Dukakis seems right.

I concur that the "insurgent" label is pretty silly, especially at this point. And as I have noted in several posts, the importance of the national party organization is normally overblown.

And I also agree that a McGovern-like outcome is unlikely.
