Via the Politico: Noonan, Murphy trash Palin on hot mike: ‘It’s over’

After a segment with NBC’s Chuck Todd ended today, Republican consultant Mike Murphy and Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan were caught on a live mike ridiculing the choice of Sarah Palin.

“It’s over,” said Noonan, who then responded to a question of whether Palin is the most qualified Republican woman McCain could have chosen.

“The most qualified? No. I think they went for this — excuse me — political bullsh** about narratives,” she said. “Every time Republicans do that … because that’s not where they live and it’s not what they’re good at and they blow it.”

    2. Noonan already has an explanation up:

I’m inclined to be skeptical of the “Its over” point (although as she puts it, it is a good point to make), but then again, I’m also skeptical that this is the entire conversation, so that COULD be true. I tend to agree with the “Narrative” critique, and don’t see how it contradicts anything that Noonan said earlier.

The amazing part is the internet age we live in, which allows both this glimpse into TV and a response within a day of when it went on the air, and not years later in a memoir.
