Via MSNBC: GOP retires ‘Playboy’ ad in Tenn.
Danny Diaz, a spokesman for the RNC, insisted that the ad, which RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman defended Tuesday in an interview on MSNBC-TV, wasn’t being “pulled.” He said the decision had nothing to do with the controversy; instead, the ad had simply “run its course.”
Regardless of one’s interpretation of the ad, or one’s assumptions about its impact, there is little doubt that it has “run its course.” It had its initial run on TN TV and then got a ton of free TV and internet play.
It is clearly time to move on to the next bit.

Wait, Melman said that he didn’t have any control over the ad just a couple of days ago. What happened?

See a tongue-in-cheek visual that gives Mr. Mehlman a dose of his own “Innuendo” medicine…here:

But apparently they will keep running the ad (also TN, I believe) in which they suggest, dreisively, that we could just leave the Canadians to take care of North Korea, becuase they are not “busy.”
(The Canadian government has protested, noting that the troops that are currently in Afghanistan are not exactly sitting around in the cafes.)
