Via the AP: `Raymond’ dad Peter Boyle dies in NYC Boyle died Tuesday evening at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He had been suffering from multiple myeloma and heart disease, said his publicist, Jennifer Plante. He was 71. I enjoyed Boyle very much as Frank Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond, although in many ways he will always be the monster from Young Frankenstein. Yeah, and Terri Garr is no slouch either.
I will always remember Boyle as Frank Barone, because he was absolutely hysterical — he said all the things people think but are too polite to say. I realize that’s the way the script was written, but Boyle’s delivery is what made it work. It is a sad day.
