It seems odd that you captured the context in both pictures and failed to recognize the difference between these and Rep. Pelosi. In both of these pictures, they are in a mosque, where the failure to wear a Hijab would be considered completely unacceptable. That is a far cry from walking down the street. The photo of Pelosi I posted (here was of Pelosi in a Mosque. And if you notice the Bush picture above, she is outside either going to or coming from the Mosque.
I see no difference here. And to find a difference one has to be splitting hairs based on partisan or ideological preferences.

Following your post, I did some more looking for photographs. It appears the scarf she wore was one that she had around her neck during the day that she put on her head while at the mosque. Assuming the series of photos I saw were representative of her appearance throughout the visit, I would agree with you that the characterizations that appeared on Drudge and elsewhere are inaccurate, or at the very least, significantly biased.
