Via CNN’s Political Ticker, Richardson: Endorsement could come ‘within days’

“I may make a decision and do an endorsement,” Richardson said.
Asked if the endorsement could come within the next couple of days, the New Mexico governor replied, “Possibly, yes.”
Well, that’s exciting, now isn’t it? He might endorse someone maybe sometime this week!

The more he dithers like this, the more he ruins whatever is left of his credibility. He did not endorse before his own state voted, where he could have made a difference, given that it was a razor-thin margin.
The fact that he has not endorsed Clinton, when he served her husband’s administration, already says a lot. But whether what it says is that he’s been a closet Obama supporter all along or that he just wants a job in the next administration so badly that he dare not stick his neck out, who can say?
Full disclosure: I have met the man, like him a lot, and considered him my first choice some months ago.

You are in line with my view on the subject: the further away from the time that one quits the contest, the less impact (such as it is) the endorsement has.
It does make him look like he is worried about how his endorsement will effect his chances at a post in a Democratic administration.
