Via the BBC (Mugabe ‘ready to face fresh vote’) we find that Mugabe’s party has lost control of the parliament and that Mugabe is ready to face Tsvangirai in a run-off.
In regards to the legislature:
Official results from the parliamentary election, published by the Zimbabwe Election Commission on Wednesday, gave Mr Mugabe’s party the lead in terms of the popular vote - 45.9% to 42.8% for the main opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
But the MDC won a majority of seats, displacing Zanu-PF, final official results show.
The MDC took 99 seats, while Mr Mugabe’s party polled 97.
On the presidential side:
With presidential election results still awaited, the MDC said on Wednesday that its leader had won, though Zanu-PF denied this.
Sphere: Related ContentThe MDC released its own results to back up its claim of victory in the presidential poll, saying Mr Tsvangirai had won 50.3% of the vote to Mr Mugabe’s 43.8%, so avoiding a second round of voting.
Hmmm, my math skills might be a bit rusty, but it does not seem that 99/210 is a majority.

One assumes (and perhaps incorrectly, as I am not sure what caused the break-away) that the MDC and the MDC splinter party would form a coalition against Zanu-PF.
I have tried to avoid stating that the MDC has a majority, although the BBC keeps counting the MDC and the breakaway faction as one parliamentary group.
Do you have any idea about the likely caucusing behavior of the MDC breakways?
