Q: What would you most like to see John McCain accomplish in his acceptance speech?
The responses are split between
Make the case that his won’t be a third Bush term.
and
Show that he grasps Americans’ economic problems
I went with the first, stating:
If McCain has any actual aspirations to win over independents (and he’d better if he wants to win), he has to convince the electorate that he will not be Bush III.
This is key, I think moreso than the economy or any other specific issue (especially since, at the moment, the economic news isn’t as bad as it was thought it might be by now, although the forecasts aren’t too swift: Fed’s Yellen says U.S. economy faces subpar growth).
