From the Text of Zell Miller’s Speech at RNC

It is not their patriotism–it is their judgment that has been so sorely lacking. They claimed Carter’s pacifism would lead to peace.

They were wrong.

They claimed Reagan’s defense buildup would lead to war.

They were wrong.

And, no pair has been more wrong, more loudly, more often than the two Senators from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry.

Andm indeed:

Campaign talk tells people who you want them to think you are. How you vote tells people who you really are deep inside.

    1. How you vote tells people who you really are deep inside.

For some reason Kerry supporters can’t bring themselves to believe this. Whenever I’ve made precisely this point to the deeply pro-Kerry they always explain Mr. Kerry’s voting record as loyal constituent service. I believe it’s the other way around. The constituents vote for the guy they think has their views.

I had planned on blogging this speech live and trying to draw conclusions thereof, however it was so powerful nothing could do it justice other than just posting the entire transcript. Full analysis to follow.

Zell Miller laid it all out, made the case against the current Democratic party and its leadership that has maddened many an American, this one included, for a long time.
