I have been meaning to comment on the new season of Doctor Who, but have failed to find the time. My quick version: I have been impressed to date. David Tennant’s Doctor continues to grow on me and I find myself very much looking forward to each subsequent episode.

More Cast Announcement for Season Two of Heroes

Via the SciFi Wire: Agron, Keating Join Heroes.

Keating played Malcom Reed on Enterprise and add another actor with genre-specific experience to the cast such as Trek’s George Takei and Who’s Eccelston (which essentially adds more trivia to the show as much as anything else).

Heinlein at 100

In honor honor of the coming 100th anniversary of the birth of Robert Heinlein, the Free Lance-Star has an essay on the work (and politics) of the author: Centenary a modern sci-fi giant.

The piece makes the case for Heinlein as a “Man of the Right” but I must confess to have always thought of Heinlein as more libertarian than hardcore conservative (and, to be fair, the piece does note the libertarian issue). Certainly Stranger in a Strange Land indicates that he was far from a social conservative.
