Regular readers know full well that I have not been a fan of Sarah Palin and think that there are plenty of ways in which she deserves much of the criticism that she has received. However, I have to say that I feel sorry for her in regards to the current rumors about her marriage, as noted by the Politico: Sarah Palin beats press to blog claim.
Of course, by the same token, this is the kind of rumor that is rather easy to debunk: one is either getting a divorce or one isn’t, so at the end of the day this particular situation could redound to Palin’s benefit as assuming that the denials from the Palin camp are accurate (and there is no reason to assume otherwise), then this story will ultimately make the rumor-mongering anti-Palin bloggers in question look bad.
However, if rumors like this are the reason that Palin quit office early, then she does not have the mettle needed to run for President.
