Scott Lemieux gets it right on the likelihood that the Democrats will take the House.
He makes a point that I frequently do as well (and a point that is usually ignored in the typical analysis of 1994): and that is the shift of conservative Southern Democrats to the GOP in 1994.
The emphasis on the Contract with America obscures this fact.
