Via the AP: said President Bush today:
“We are not mining or trolling through the personal lives of innocent Americans,”
If the USAT story is anywhere near to true (and the President did not deny anything about the story itself, which is telling) then this statement by the President appears to be false.
If the purpose of the program is to collect large amount of data and sift through it to find al Qaeda operatives somehow, then how can this be called anything other than “trolling” or “mining”?
Of course, I suppose it depends on what the meaning of “trolling” is.
And no, I am not too pleased to be typing that sentence.
