Via Reuters: Baghdad blasts wreck Shi’ite shrines

Bombs killed 30 people in Baghdad on Sunday in one of its bloodiest days in weeks and sectarian attacks wrecked six small Shi’ite shrines as
Iraq’s rival leaders wrestled to form a national unity government.

Clearly, armed groups are seeking to stoke the sectarian fires in Iraq.

And all of this is in the context of just over a week until the PM-designate is supposed to submit the names of the cabinet.
