Via CNN: U.S. to restore relations with Libya

The United States will restore full diplomatic relations with Libya and remove the North African country from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, the State Department announced Monday.

[...]

The removal from the terrorism list is expected to take place after a 45-day waiting period.

Once full diplomatic ties are established, an ambassador to Libya will replace the current charges d’affaires, and an embassy will be established in Tripoli.

Hopefully Libya is, indeed, cooperating in these areas. It will be interesting to see how this develops.

I can’t understand how the US government can make a deal with Gadafi when he has been suspected in the assasination of one of the princes of Saudi Arabia and just sooo recently “denounced” terrorism.
Gadafi is a known murder and liar!!!! Just ask ANY Libian living in America. They all have stories of full of deceit and blood. I think that ALL persons in the US who feel the same as I feel about this “deal” for OIL should contact their Senators and Representatives immediately so they can veto this decision before it is to late.
