Via the NYT: Coffee as a Health Drink? Studies Find Some Benefits.
The story lists a number of possible benefits to coffee consumption, including decreasing the likelihood of Type 2 diabetes. Indeed, for women it appears to be a veritable elixir of life:
women who drank one to five cups a day — caffeinated or decaffeinated — reduced their risk of death from all causes during the study by 15 to 19 percent compared with those who drank none.
I think it’s time for the afternoon coffee!
Does this mean I should start drinking coffee? But what if it gives me a heart attack on my first cup?
