Via the BBC: Bolivians approve draft charter

A special Bolivian constituent assembly has approved a new draft constitution, despite a boycott by the main opposition party.

One would think that the boycott probably helped matters move along, so I question the deployment of “despite.”

The new constitution will go before the voters for approval next year.
