Yes, I am being a bit flippant, but I must say I find it odd that RedState is begging for money when they are partnered with a private publishing company.
Not to pile on, but it really is an odd way for a conservative outfit to behave. Indeed, if Redstate can’t make enough revenue to do the upgrades it wants to do, then isn’t that the free market speaking?
And, I must confess, blaming the “online left” is unbecoming:
If we’d been a liberal website, we would have been able to fix the problem quickly and relatively cheaply. The online left loves Scoop. Unfortunately, there weren’t really any conservative Scoop developers out there to help us. We kept crashing and were out of money. We had to close down or take drastic action.
Are they arguing that somehow the collective action of the left has trumped the free market approach on the right? Is that really the argument that they want to make?
Most odd.

Since Scoop, they’re apparently gone to a different system, which I defend at the link. Based on my extensive knowledge of that system it seems like all they’d need to do is write some add-ons. Of course, I don’t know what they have now and what they plan, but I’d be surprised if that weren’t still true after finding that out.

I guess Eagle Publishings $8.2 Million in revenue doesn’t allow them to actually pay for professional IT support. Least they could do is outsource the code development to India, don’t ya think?

The kicker is that Kos offered to share technology with them, and they refused. So liberals are responsible for RedState’s poor decisions: not to maintain their site, to refuse Kos’s offer, to ignore their developer’s advice, etc. Some “conservative” ideology on display here!
