First the Cruise Ship, Now…
The Rooftop Report notes a story from The Hill.com which suggests that Bush could give his convention acceptance speech from Ground Zero.
This strikes me as a very bad idea.
First the cruise ship flap and now this? Surely the convention planners are a tad brighter than this?

I vote Elinor Clift as the stupidest woman alive. Here is how she begins her piece on how George Bush brought up the gay marriage thing and how it will help the democrats.
“Bush’s support for a gay-marriage ban marriage is unrealistic pandering to religious conservatives. But it could energize the Dems more than the GOP”
What is “gay-marriage ban marriage?”

I read the article. It is an unnamed “insider” throwing out scenarios. In other words, nothing. Can you say, “planted story?” I would be surprised, no stunned, if Bush took this risk. Of course, no matter what he does, he’ll get ripped. But doing this would validate one of the Democrats joke of a complaint: They planned the convention in New York to exploit 9/11. Funny, no mention of how devastated the NYC economy was after 9/11 and how the GOP convention will pour all kinds of cash into NYC.
