Just curious… since some people think that money doesn’t corrupt politicians, and other think that politicians wouldn’t be corrupt without money (I know: I just stated a false dichotomy, but bear with me…)… how about the following idea, which I think might be a good comprimise:
I have heard a proposal to make political donations unlimited, but that they have to go through an independently administered blind trust, so that nobody can trace the money back to who donated it.
Whaddya think???
Also, any ideas on how this would impact the balance between a politicians efforts on getting elected vs. their efforts on doing good government cs. their efforts at acquiring power and wealth?
