- Bryan S. from Arguing with Signposts: Interactivity:
Blogging isn’t the “next great thing. It’s not even the “last great thing. It’s just another form of media that is much more available to people like you and I. That’s the promise, and the peril of blogging. As I sometimes tell my classes: The good thing about the internet is that anyone can put up a web page (weblog). The bad thing about the internet is that anyone can put up a web page (weblog).
- James Joyner at OTB:
Mostly that, like “media,” “blogging” is not just one thing. A weblog is merely one medium for conveying information to readers. InstaPundit, Wonkette, Captains Quarters, Daily Kos, and Boing Boing all do very different things in different ways. To simply lump them all together as “blogs” borders on meaningless.

On Linking Ethics
How much culpability does a blogger have for the content of the sites on his blogroll? We all seemed to agree that the culpability is limited, since we all link to sites that have content with which we disagree.
