Via the AP: Polls: Corzine’s Lead Slipping in N.J.
Three polls released within 48 hours show the New Jersey governor’s race has tightened, with Republican Doug Forrester capitalizing on an ethics furor to cut Democratic Sen. Jon Corzine’s double-digit lead to as little as 4 percentage points.
Interesting. I am somewhat surprised.
Just goes to show that ethics problems can effect one’s electoral fortunes.
As a conservative from NJ, I must say this is great news!

I think lapses in ethics should be an embarrassment to both parties and any politician who lacks ethics should be immediately voted out or striped of any committee responsibilities.
I take no joy in DeLay’s three-card Monty of campaign funds or Brownie’s, Nagin’s and Blanco’s ineptness. We should all demand more from our candidates!

Corzine is generally an honest guy. The ethics charges are bull as usual, but also as usual (for Democrats) Corzine is not doing a good job defending himself and attacking back. He looked awful in what I saw of the debates on C-Span.

At the moment, I have not assumed the guilt of any of these folks (although Frist has some splainin’ to do at a minimum)–but when there is a certain storm brewing in terms of public perceptions, and such storms tend to affect the guilty and the innocent.
