Via the SciFi Wire: Galactica Returns In Fall.
While the 3rd season has been confirmed for some time, this is the first time I have seen a timeframe. According to the brief story we will all have to wait until October for new BSG after this Friday’s season finale.
The third season, like the second, will be 20 episodes in length.
Ah, but the new Doctor Who starts airing on SciFi beginning March 17th. That should tide us over until October.

So they are only going to have 2 sets of episodes this year instead of three? Bummer.

Same number of episodes as season 2: 20.

I was mistaken, SCIFI never did that for BSG. They had three subseasons for each year for SG1 in the past. Fall is a long time to wait for new episodes.

Gotcha–and agreed on the wait!

They will have new episodes for the StarGate shows in July this summer as well.
This format no doubt affects how many cliffhangers the writers put into a season.
