“Gramatica made me look good,” -Bill Parcells

Indeed.

I’d say these are pretty good numbers:

22/29 (75.9%) for 306 and 5 TDs and no picks

And there were several of those passes which were dropped.

The Cowboys now have a 3 game winning streak behind them and 10 days to rest and prepare for the Giants and the chance to take control of the division (and the second seed in the NFC).

Kewl.

Via Bloomberg you can find the answer: NFL, Cable Dispute May Limit Audience for Network’s First Game.  Basically there’s a price dispute between the NFL and the three largest cable companies:  Cablevision, Charter (my provider) and Time Warner.

The issue:

The NFL Network wants to be included in basic cable packages with channels such as ESPN or CNN, where it can reach the broadest possible audience. Basic-package channels charge a fee for each subscriber. Wider distribution also brings higher advertising rates.

[…]

“This is a dance and it’s only about the sub fee,'’ Frank told a SportsBusiness Journal seminar on Nov. 15. “The NFL Network is asking 80 cents a sub. They’re prepared to offer about 25 cents a sub and eventually they’ll end up at 40-45 cents a sub.'’

I suspect that at some point that this issue will be resolved–as they both need one another.  The part that I find remarkable is that the NFL didn’t find a way to reach a compromise given the huge Thanksgiving Day audience that they are going to miss out on.

It sure is nice to have a real QB after all these years without one.

It looks like Tony Romo is a bona fide NFL QB.

Via Bloomberg: ESPN’s Monday Night Football Has Highest-Ever Cable-TV Rating

The New York Giants’ victory over the Dallas Cowboys on ESPN’s Monday Night Football registered the highest rating ever for a cable network program.

Yesterday’s game had a preliminary rating of 11.4 to edge out a 1993 trade debate between Vice President Al Gore and Ross Perot that aired on CNN’s “Larry King Live,'’ said ESPN spokesman Dave Nagel, citing data from Nielsen Media Research. The debate had an 11.1 rating.

So, Tony Romo can rest assurred that his 3 INTs were seen by lots and lots of people.

A decision on who will start for Dallas is to be made today. I say go with Romo, as it is clear that Bledsoe can’t move and isn’t going to get any better. Romo, at least, can improve (at least theoretically).

As Chris Berman likes to say, the Raiders are off the schneid: Oakland 22, Arizona 9.

On Monday, the Cardinals came within a few inches of beating arguably the best team in the league, and today they lost to the worst.

As I noted before: the Cards are cursed.

Or, perhaps just not that good.

How does a team forced 6 turnovers from the QB and hold the oppossing offense to FG and still manage to lose?

Amazing.

Pity Matt Leinart for being drafted by that franchise.

Well, another game that ends with a Drew Bledsoe INT. And man, the Eagles’ D was fanastic in the 2nd half. It was a dramatic game, to be sure.

Ah well, at least Texas beat OU.
