Via iFMagazine: NEW DOCTOR WHO BOOSTS SCI FI CHANNEL’S RATINGS

DOCTOR WHO averaged 1.3 household rating and 1.5 million total viewers for its Friday night timelot – a 44 percent increase in ratings over the same timeslot in the second quarter of last year.

Good ratings will mean more Who, which is a good thing.

Indeed, the story notes that the second series of the new Doctor Who will play in SciFi sometime next year, which is the first time I have seen that stated.

    3. Oh man, I haven’t heard of Dr. Who in a long time. I used to watch it when I was younger.

    5. Eccleston’s “Is there life after Gallifrey?” Who was a bit too existentialist for my tastes. (e.g., “There was a war. We lost.”)

Hopefully Tennant will be a bit more upbeat.

    6. I liked Eccleston, but I see where you are coming from. I have avoided reading too much about the second series, but what I have seen has been quite positive.

I am concerned just from pictures that Tennant might be too goofy/campy, but I am not getting that sense.
